Songwriter / Singer / Deejay / Rapper / Model and Choreographer LISTONIA was born in 1985 in Europe in the former Soviet Union country of Estonia. Combining her real name Lisa, with her home country of Estonia birthed the psuedonym LISTONIA. With her multi-cultural background possessing Siberian, German and Russian roots and deep influences by urban and reggae music, artistically Listonia hopes to bring a new and different approach to songwriting. Growing up in a family full of musicians while studying & playing classical piano since the age of 6, helped to mold the talented artist we see today. Her first recordings were made in her teens, but even before she started writing her first vocal songs, she was ‘freestyling’ rap rhymes along with her television and radio.
Modeling experiences include numerous photo shoots in Europe and the United States. Including but not limited to runway shows for ‘NYC Urban Fashion Week’ 2008 and ‘Caribbean Fashion Rocks’ 2008 & 2009. With an energetic personality and bubbling raw talent, Listonia has always pursued her love for Dancehall Reggae music. Initially thru dancing, she played a major role in introducing dancehall culture and stylings to Europe in Estonia, Finland and surrounding countries, even becoming a choreographer and hosting numerous workshops . These efforts and more led her to being crowned “Estonian Dancehall Queen” in 2006. Shortly after that she began traveling in Europe, Canada and the Caribbean where she represented Europe in the highly touted ‘International Dancehall Queen Competition’ in Jamaica. After a short extended stay in Jamaica absorbing the culture, LISTONIA then moved to NYC to record her first album and pursue her original love of making music. Co-writing credits include various reggae artist like ‘Barbee’ and ‘Mr.Lexx’, just to name a few. LISTONIA has also collaborated and worked with Hip Hop veteran Jeru The Damaja, Bruck Up, Kush, Nate Mars, Bananaz Bros, Soundboy Music along with others. Her first single "Call Me Back" featuring Mr.Lexx (a.k.a. Lexxus) is steadily gaining notoriety worldwide and locally in the NYC urban scene. Airplay is consistently rising as the word spreads of the multi-talented songbird’s prowess.
Constantly in the studio, and hard at work at making her entry into the musical fraternity a major one, LISTONIA seems to be heading towards stardom, stay tuned.
